Support for children
Although Tamil government schools are free, many families cannot afford the essentials of a school uniform, notebooks and pens. The Trust helps poor families to buy these essentials with small grants of money.
The Trust funds daily distribution of milk to some of the poorest families in the local villages. Unlike much commercially available milk, the quality of this milk is assured and forms an essential supplement to the diets of many children.
The Trust funds two kindergarten schools so that young mothers can bring their children with them while working or training in IT, typing, stitching or tailoring. The close relationship between the training and the provision of kindergartens is an essential aspect of an holistic approach to the relief of poverty in the villages.
